Local Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were marked, sometimes with swastikas, they reported in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a individual discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.
The fluid had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they stated.
Law enforcement then found multiple other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Police say early analysis show the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no indication as to its origin; officials are currently not informed of any harm in connection with the occurrence," they added.
Municipal representatives stated they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have appealed to the public for details.
A high-ranking representative said the incident made him stunned and had to be addressed rapidly.
"This event hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing violent incident half a decade ago," he posted on online, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at residents of migrant background in five years prior.
