The United Kingdom is prepared to move forward with employing the entire amount of frozen Russian funds to bolster Ukraine's war effort, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a shared declaration, the officials of the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany stated that this joint measure would heighten pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin and compel Russia to come to the table.

They added that the initiative would be executed in strong partnership with the US.

UK penalties have frozen in excess of £25bn of Russian resources since the Russian government began its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. However, until now, money allocated to Ukraine using Russia's funds had exclusively been sourced from profits and interest accrued on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and Germany were united in their desire to drive progress toward employing the full value of the immobilized Moscow's national holdings to halt hostilities.

He stated that more sanctions in the coming days and weeks would increase the strain on the Russian government.

This announcement comes after EU officials convened in the Danish capital previously to consider using frozen Russia's holdings for a €140 billion financial aid to Ukraine.

In the previous month, US President Donald Trump called on international partners to seize or employ seized Russia's funds, based on reports.

The worth of immobilized Russian funds in the European Union is assessed to be approximately €211bn.

President Zelensky encourages Britain's Sir Keir Starmer to take part in the weapons procurement initiative

Russia launched large-scale missile and drone strikes across the Ukrainian territory on that day, causing power cuts in many areas of Kyiv, Kyiv, and several other zones.

A pair of individuals were fatally injured and no fewer than 20 people were injured in the attack, the Ukrainian government reported.

In a message on X following the incident, Zelensky stated that the cynical and calculated attack targeted non-military and power facilities.

"The necessity is not mere statements but decisive action - from the America, the European Union, and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing penalties," he emphasized.

"Each restrictive measure undermines the Russian war effort," Zelensky noted, in a additional update.

In the same period, Zelensky informed the press he would press Sir Keir to participate in the weapons procurement programme, under which alliance members buy military equipment from the United States to give to Ukraine.

While applauding the United Kingdom's strong support for Kyiv, he noted it should demonstrate clearly that it would take part in the system, as well as enforce additional sanctions on Russia.
