Did the winner pull off an incredible feat? Or were the loyal contestants act really – I mean mind-blowing terribly? Discussions will rage across online platforms for ages, regardless the champion of the debut – and likely not the final – series of The Celebrity Traitors is the deceptive Alan Carr.
Initially selected by the presenter, many believed he would not survive even sixty minutes. He proved that right. “I am nauseous. I have a moisture dilemma and can’t keep a secret.” Additionally, he fails to murmur or remember if he obtained a shield.
Nonetheless, encircled, by some of the daftest participants of the game since records began, he made it through, having grown into the role with frightening facility. He wrapped up with a theatrical gesture, breaking out in partially insincere weeping about how difficult it had been for him to bear the murderous burden.
The remaining pair of loyal players, moved to reassure him (“It’s been tearing me apart!”). At home, it’s easy to picture heavenward looks and screams.
The Final Showdown
At the start of the concluding installment, there had been five surviving contestants of the initial nineteen. Subsequent to one ultimate group mission, including a railway engine, twenty thousand pounds in locked boxes, access items and hints placed within the carriages, and two metal-bound caskets (“I assumed control a bit there,” notes one contestant of the unwrapping. “Since I was willing to lose a finger”), they assembled for their final discussion.
Two contestants cast their votes for another player, despite the historian’s impressive record of logically guiding himself to every erroneous outcome possible. I stay convinced in my belief that this player would have made the world’s greatest deceiver, but as a loyalist he was disastrous.
He was able to vote for a fellow participant at the table, however, and she was rightfully eliminated in the end.
Emotion and Resolution
Now we are four. It is difficult to recount to detail what transpired following. One contestant … felt a hesitation. A period when he suspected his best friend. A standout love stories of modern times, between the largest individual and the tiniest man on the screen, the sportsman and the brainteaser expert, staggered under the shock as the hesitant one revealed his concluding choice to show his dearest companion’s name.
The eliminated contestant did not reel – he lacks the capacity for it – but if he could, he could have. “But I love you,” the participant said, hopelessly.
The removed participant departed, the surviving pair thought they were safe and subsequent to an activity entailing tossing bags into a inferno, the three decided to conclude the game.
Since he was the lone remaining deceiver, the winner was proclaimed the success and secured the full prize pot for the youth oncology foundation. However, the crucial point is that when the host directed the quintet to a meeting on the fortress stairs, amends was immediate.
Farewell to the Cast
I am going to, in company with the more than 13 million other spectators, long for each one. (Except for a couple of participants who did not have the opportunity to do much, and another who never apologised for botching a specific task.)
I am going to regret the loss of the intense anger of one player, the dramatic grief of a separate player, the total incapacity of one more player to interpret events without self-reference.
I shall miss one participant’s distrust of complex vocabulary, another duo’s wit, a singer’s sheer presence, a vocalist as the essence of everything that endures as virtuous in this imperfect reality, a veteran host as TV’s enduring personality, a gentle participant and the relentless avuncularity of a beloved figure, together with all the last-round players.
Most importantly I am going to lament the loss of the dignity and style of a particular contestant, so exquisitely regal even when yelling into a shaft or farting in a shack. As the individual under the host’s hair highlighted on numerous instances, you were, mostly, terrible as players. But you were wonderful, exceptional diversion.
