The Co-Creator of Call of Duty, Has Passed Away in a Los Angeles Vehicle Accident

Vince Zampella, the mind behind the wildly popular video game Call of Duty, has passed away in a vehicle crash in the state of California aged 55.

His passing was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.

The celebrated industry figure died after his car crashed and caught fire on a highway in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, US media outlets report.

"We are facing an unimaginable loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, his loved ones, and everyone impacted by his work," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts said.
